Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of a start-up home décor retailer, responsible for the development of the company’s growth strategies and operational execution to support those strategies. Key duties included researching, creating and implementing the technology and processes necessary to quickly scale while maintaining data integrity and remaining within defined budget parameters.
Assisted in establishing an Investment Opportunity Deck which included an executive summary, business model, mission and vision statement, value proposition, customer segments, and real estate strategy.
Engineered an overall business strategic plan incorporating tactics and key performance indicators for each business area and initiated a Financial Proforma encompassing store size modeling, e-commerce, and overall company.
Defined the RFP for omnichannel systems, including POS, enterprise, e-Commerce, and financials.
Developed roles and responsibilities required for each business process resulting in the definition of the overall organization and job descriptions.
Designed a margin master concept that provided information required for SKU setup, margin product life cycle modeling, minimum presentation replenishment, and space planning.
Built a marketing strategy covering strategic partnerships, omnichannel technology, CRM, eMail, digital strategy, collateral, and store openings.
Created a merchandise plan by store model and product categories with company roll-up, incorporating an open-to-buy plan.
Investor money was raised, the overall business plan was established, supported by the merchandise plan. An initial store was opened within nine months, with initial inventory purchased based on the store planogram. The website was developed with supporting in-store POS and established and executed the initial marketing.
